Black and White EOY Awards

Last year I created some fun awards for my firsties...they loved them, I loved them...we were happy.

This year I decided it was time for some new ones..I needed some that were in b&w so I could print them on my cute neon cardstock.

Aren't they cute?! Love them!

This is how they look on colored cardstock...

I adore the way they look on the yellow and pink...it makes me happy. ;)

I can't wait to give these to my kiddos next week...14 days to go...so excited!

Hey y'all!

It's been a while since I've participated in a WILW...so excited to be doing this post!

Here's what I'm lovin' on this gorgeous spring day!

I'm lovin' all the fun activities we've been doing in my classroom...

 an Out of this World unit...

 

and an All About Ants unit...so much fun!

 

I'm lovin' that we only have 16 days of school left...and that my EC Life Planner is already marked. ;)

I'm lovin' all the organization that's been going on. 

I'm lovin' that we only have a couple more stories to read in our basal.

I'm lovin' the sweet gifts my firsties have brought to me this week.

And last but definitely not least..I'm lovin' these awesome girls...

 and these cute boys. ;)

My Week in Pictures and #teachertalktuesday

Like all Texas teachers this past week my life was consumed with STAAR.

Yeap...our state test has a pretty, sparkly name..but don't be jealous..being two days out of the classroom to be a test administrator was not pretty. :/

This week my classroom looks like this..

We have to cover our resource walls and everything that has print on it..this is done because K-2 will be taking our "big" test this week..ITBS..do any of you give that test? I'd love to know if you do.

As if STAAR and ITBS weren't enough..I also had to start DRAing my kids this past week..yeap..I had to take a chocolate break in the middle of all that testing. ;)

But it wasn't all test and no play...

We did manage to do some meaningful activities and fun word work.

This ecology book is from Katie over at Teacher to the Core...her entire ecology unit is amazing!

Happy Birthday to my little..she is 4 years young today.

Seriously..where did the time go?!

Magical Product Swap

Hey y'all!

I'm here today to let 'ya know about my friend Stephanie from Falling into First...she's sweet, creative and such a hoot! I love her! She's been on such a creative spree lately..her products are just amazing...love, love, love!

My kiddos are loving these writing activities. I have a set of cards in our writing center..and my firsties get to choose which one they want to work on. Choice is a biggie...giving them the opportunity to choose what they will be writing about gives them ownership..love that!

You know what else is great about this product...it prints beautifully on colored cardstock!

My Week in Pictures: Texas Style

Howdy y'all!

We've been super busy learning all about the Lone Star State in our first grade classroom. And y'all it's been so much fun!

My firsties and I are lovin' it!

Here is our week in pics...enjoy!

Some of my kiddlets are still working with CVC words...so I pulled out this fun little center as a review. My kiddos loved it..and had tons of fun revisiting it.

You all know I love my parent volunteer, right?!

This is what she worked on this week..isn't it lovely? I'm in love with it!

And finally..you know you're in Texas when the temperature reaches 102 degrees in April.

Crazy!

Even though it was hot and dry...we still enjoyed going to watch this girl play her favorite sport.

She's AMAZING!

 

Okay..well I think that pretty much wraps up the week.

If you like the Texas activities...be on the look out because I'm almost done with this 'lil unit...

oh and before I forget...I've been obsessed with Instagram lately..so much fun!
